What will you be working with?

We are looking for someone who wants to work with vaccinations, disease and vaccine surveillance, and environmental monitoring. We seek a colleague with documented knowledge and many years of experience in work within the vaccine field. You will work as a specialist physician at the Vaccination Unit (VA), within the Department for Infection Control and Preparedness (SB). As a specialist physician, you will work in accordance with the Public Health Agency's overarching goals and mission, specifically focusing on issues related to vaccination programs and recommendations for vaccinations.

Who are we looking for?

Requirements for the position:

  • The person we are looking for must have Swedish medical licensure and Swedish proof of specialist competence in a field relevant to the tasks.
  • Experience working clinically as a specialist for at least five years, either in Sweden or in another country, within a specialty relevant to the tasks, such as infectious diseases, pediatrics, general practice, immunology, clinical pharmacology, clinical microbiology, or another relevant specialty.
  • Experience of work or research in the field of vaccinations, immunology, microbiology, or within the area of infection control, in a senior role with responsibility for independent decision-making in medical matters.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Great emphasis is placed on:

  • Personal qualities such as good teamwork skills, ability to be responsible, flexible, having a good attitude towards others, and a holistic perspective in your role with an understanding of the organization's mission.
  • Documented analytical ability, for example through experience in independently analyzing and compiling health data from scientific publications and other literature, preferably with a focus on monitoring vaccination programs, recommendations, and new vaccines.
  • Experience in producing systematic literature reviews.
  • Experience in developing and communicating guidelines, care programs, monitoring programs, or infection control leaflets.
  • Experience working in expert groups, clinical investigations, research projects, or similar contexts.

Significant emphasis is placed on:

  • Research experience.
  • Experience participating in work on vaccine issues, for example in expert groups, clinical investigations, research projects, vaccination programs, and/or monitoring.
  • Experience working with infection control issues.

Emphasis is placed on:

  • Education in epidemiology and/or public health science or equivalent.
  • Experience in knowledge dissemination to the healthcare profession.
  • Experience in line management, project management, or other leadership roles.
  • Postgraduate education.

What does the unit do?

The Vaccination Unit coordinates, is responsible for, develops background material, and issues recommendations regarding vaccinations and vaccination programs.

About the employment

You will be employed as an investigator (Utredare) with placement at our office in Solna or Östersund. The employment is a permanent full-time position and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date is as soon as possible by agreement. There may be an opportunity to take leave of absence for up to 40 percent to combine the position with clinical work or research at another employer.

As an employee of the Public Health Agency, you may be assigned to wartime duties. Some positions are classified security levels where Swedish citizenship may be a requirement. Security clearance will then be conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).

At the agency, there may be an opportunity to agree on remote work for up to 40 percent of your working time.
