RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now looking for a new colleague to the Environmental Regulation Unit who wants to contribute to ensuring that effective and safe plant protection products are available to the agricultural and horticultural industries.
Here, you will work at the intersection of science, regulations, and public benefit, in close collaboration with other authorities and international actors.
In this role, you work with evaluating biological and chemical plant protection products prior to approval for use. The work takes place in close cooperation with the Swedish Chemicals Agency and involves reviewing companies' test data in applications for the approval of new plant protection products.
You are responsible for the entire evaluation process, from orienting yourself in current regulations to collaborating with colleagues to make well-founded assessments. Your analyses form an important basis for the Swedish Chemicals Agency's decisions.
The work also involves:
- Participation in national and international meetings
- Close collaboration with colleagues at the Swedish Chemicals Agency, the Swedish Board of Agriculture, and within the EU
- Switching between independent responsibility and joint assessments
The Environmental Regulation Unit consists of 16 employees who work in different teams based on a lean-inspired working method. You will become part of a team of three people, and we have close collaboration throughout the unit.
Flexibility is a natural part of the work here. Depending on the needs of the activity, your competence, and your interests, you may also come to work with other tasks within the plant protection area, for example:
- Regulatory matters
- Educational initiatives
- Special projects
We offer a varied workday, the possibility of a flexible work situation, and work in both national and international contexts.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who, through work experience, have acquired broad knowledge within the plant protection area and who feel confident in using your competence in matters concerning agriculture, forestry, and horticulture.
We see that you have:
- A degree as a soil and plant agronomist, hortonomist, or another equivalent university-level natural science education
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience in experimental operations and evaluation of test results
- Experience with regulations related to plant protection products
To thrive in the role, you need to have good analytical skills and be able to break down complex issues and weigh together different types of information with good judgment.
Since cases come in continuously and with different timeframes, it is important that you:
- Work in a structured manner
- Are flexible and can adapt to changed priorities
- Enjoy collaboration and communicate clearly
We warmly welcome your application!
Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Working hours: Daytime.
The location of employment is Jönköping, Uppsala, or Landskrona.
