We are looking for you who are a specialist, assistant chief physician, or chief physician in pulmonary medicine and who want to help develop our pulmonary operations at Södersjukhuset!

Internal Medicine at Södersjukhuset is Sweden's largest internal medicine clinic with approximately 500 employees, six wards, a medical outpatient clinic, an endoscopy center, and a day-care unit. The operations are divided into six sections, of which the lung and allergy section is one. We are now looking for you who are a pulmonologist (LUS) and who want to help develop our operations!

Job Description

You will be welcomed by six specialists and three resident physicians (ST-läkare) who, together with other staff on the ward, outpatient clinic, and endoscopy unit, work to strengthen and develop our pulmonary medical care process in preparation for future challenges and assignments. We perform all types of pulmonary investigations and treatments, except for outpatient lung cancer investigations, cytostatic treatment for lung cancer, and NIV/CPAP controls.

The ward primarily treats patients with acute pulmonary conditions, and at our outpatient clinic, we investigate and treat patients within the pulmonary field, including oxygen therapy. The work involves collaboration with other departments such as the emergency department, cardiology including the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MIVA), infectious diseases, and radiology. You will participate in on-call duties as a backup call or full rotation, depending on your qualifications.

Internal Medicine holds a prominent position in clinical teaching and patient-oriented research. Our local R&D council collaborates closely with Karolinska Institutet Södersjukhuset to ensure high-quality clinical research.

Internal Medicine at Södersjukhuset provides high-quality education for medical students and is ranked as one of Sweden's best training sites. The position includes, in addition to supervising medical students, the supervision of resident physicians (ST) and internship physicians (AT).
