Storuman Municipality is a large municipality in Southern Lapland. Here live approximately 6,000 people, with just over half residing in the urban areas of Storuman/Stensele and Tärnaby/Hemavan. For those who enjoy an active life close to nature, there is a fantastic selection of activities, both in summer and winter. Imagine gliding along a well-prepared ski trail in the magical winter light, a mirror-like mountain lake on a summer evening when the sun refuses to set, a bog in a forest clearing glowing gold with ripe cloudberry, or a freshly brewed cup of coffee in a sunbeam in April. All of this and more are experiences available in our immediate vicinity. Our municipality is not just a place to live, but a place where you can live a wonderful life. Storuman Municipality is a Sami administrative municipality, and we value knowledge of the Sami language and culture.

Job Responsibilities

We are a friendly and cheerful team looking for a new colleague. Here you have the opportunity for personal development and will receive appreciation for your efforts. As a nurse within the medical unit, you work within home care and SÄBO (specialized housing with special care for the elderly). You play a central role for your registered patients and work both independently and as part of a team. You assess, plan, execute, and follow up on health and medical care interventions for these patients in collaboration with, among others, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, doctors, and relatives.

We see the ability to see the person behind the illness and limitations as one of your finest qualities. You are receptive and communicative, handling situations with a great deal of empathy and compassion. We primarily work during daytime hours, but evening and weekend shifts are included. There are no night shifts. The operations as a whole cover care and nursing homes as well as home care throughout the municipality. In our operations, we strive for quality through training such as BPSD, VAK, MHFA, and other specialized courses and conferences that you will have the opportunity to attend.

Qualifications

You are a registered nurse or will soon complete your approved studies and receive your license. Since the job involves documentation and training/supervision of nursing staff, it is a prerequisite that you can express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish, as well as having good computer skills. A driver's license for manual transmission vehicles is required. Previous experience working for a municipality is an advantage.
