Here, you contribute to development and growth throughout the county, working to provide the best possible service, care, and support for everyone living in or visiting the region.

We offer a work environment characterized by collaboration, participation, and engagement, where both breadth and specialized expertise are valued. Here, you have the opportunity to develop in your role, whether you are new to the profession or have extensive experience.

About Primary Care

Primary care within Region Jämtland Härjedalen is organized into 4 local care areas. Since January 2022, primary care and ambulance services have been integrated under "good and close care." Each local care area is an economic unit led by a business manager. Primary care is also responsible for the region's healthcare advice service, youth clinic, and the local care ward Näva, all of which are grant-funded. Within the primary care area, there is a good research climate, and it holds the status of a university healthcare unit. Our R&D unit can provide support and scientific supervision, primarily in collaboration with Umeå University.

About Lits Health Centre

Lits Health Centre is a well-functioning health centre and workplace, with good routines and collaboration mixed with a large portion of innovative thinking. We collaborate with all our colleagues across different professional categories to create good care and provide favorable conditions for patients. Currently, we have just over 3,750 registered patients, approximately 17 employees, and two unit managers in co-leadership. Our medical group consists of 3 specialists in general medicine, 2 ST-doctors, one locum doctor, and one locum assistant doctor. The team also includes district nurses, nurses, assistant nurses, and medical secretaries. Additionally, there is a psychosocial unit with a psychologist, counselor, and psychotherapist shared with Lugnvik, as well as a rehab coordinator, physiotherapist, and occupational therapist. The maternity and child health clinic is located in the same building. We are responsible for two SÄBO (supported living for people with disabilities).

Our health centre is located approximately 2 miles outside the city center, near the Indal River, with opportunities for nice running routes, cycling trips, or walks. We have high ceilings, a good atmosphere where we help each other, and we want to create a good work climate together. We want to stay at the forefront and continuously develop.

We warmly welcome you to join us!

Responsibilities

Primary care is in the midst of a transition towards close care, which means, among other things, responsibility for a smaller number of patients in favor of increased responsibility for our most vulnerable elderly. We work based on the concept of extended primary care; this approach also means increased opportunities for home visits, thereby being able to convey security to the patients who need it most.

The work as a specialist in general medicine involves responsibility for a geographical area with clinic visits, emergency visits, home visits, qualified phone consultations, and in-depth medication reviews. We have a doctor's meeting with a joint referral review once a week, and in addition, time is allocated for development work. Occasional on-call duties are included in the work.

We are responsible for four SÄBOs, including short-term places, and have a well-functioning collaboration with the municipality's district nurses in home healthcare. Within the framework of your employment, there is an opportunity for side assignments within SÄBO, MVC (Maternity and Child Health), and BVC (Child Health). Supervision of candidates and training doctors is included in the work. Given that primary care has the status of a university healthcare unit, teaching, supervision, and education of medical students at Umeå University are included in the position.

Qualifications

We are looking for a curious and interested specialist doctor in general medicine who is interested in primary care and wants to develop our health centre together with us. Independent research and doctoral supervision are meritorious but not a formal requirement for the position.

We see that you are, as mentioned before, genuinely interested in primary care, self-directed, take responsibility, and want to contribute to a good atmosphere in the work group.

Personal suitability is given great weight.

Employment type: Permanent.
Duration: Permanent.

In Region Jämtland Härjedalen, our work is permeated by our core values: we create value for those we serve, act with initiative, and strive to always be perceived as reliable. Here, you have the opportunity to work in an organization where these values shape daily life and where your work truly makes a difference.

As an employee, you have access to a wide range of benefits through our benefits portal. We care about your health and offer a wellness allowance or wellness hour. At Östersund Hospital, you can also train for free at the Zefyren gym and participate in leader-led sessions.

Selection and appointment may take place continuously during the advertising period, so we would appreciate it if you submit your application as soon as possible.

Primary care is a healthcare unit within the region's health and medical care administration, where higher education for medical degrees and research are conducted. This means that all applicants must be expert-reviewed by the R&D manager prior to any employment. In light of this, the application must include the following documents:

  • A structured CV
  • Certificate of medical degree from the institution(s) where the doctor completed their basic education. This applies to doctors trained in other EU countries and non-EU countries as well.
  • Licensure certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare
  • Specialist competence certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare
  • Certificate/documentation on teaching experience and any other pedagogical merits.
  • If applicable, current certificate of academic degree, such as Doctor of Medicine or Docent, along with the date of defense and title of the dissertation.
  • Documented supervisor training
  • If applicable, a complete updated publication list.
  • Optionally, further documented merits regarding, for example, clinical knowledge/experience, clinical development work, leadership experience, and anything else the applicant wishes to highlight as meritorious for the sought position.

We have an established tradition for recruitment and therefore kindly but firmly decline contact with advertising salespeople or other sellers of recruitment services.
