Do you enjoy juggling multiple tasks and meeting people during various stages of life? As a church caretaker, you are an important part of the parish's life. You are involved in the daily work around the church and its activities, with special responsibility for practically supporting the parish's worship services, church ceremonies, concerts, and other activities.

The caretaker plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and pleasant environment for parishioners, visitors, and staff. With us, you get more than a job – you become part of something bigger.

As a caretaker, you are part of the parish's work team and have a range of varied tasks:

• Ensure that the buildings are in good condition and perceived as inviting by the church's visitors.
• You are also the church's face to the outside world and meet people in both joy and sorrow. Welcome and meet visitors in a safe and professional manner.
• Are part of the work team and collaborate with priests, deacons, musicians, and other staff.
• Serve at worship services and church ceremonies (baptism, wedding, confirmation, funeral), including preparation before and after.
• Responsible for practical and technical tasks such as sound, light, and digital technology during worship services and events.
• Building maintenance – supervision, minor repairs, maintenance, locks/alarm systems.
• Room care – cleaning and preparation of churches and premises before worship services, gatherings, and rentals.
• Gardening and exterior maintenance – planting and care of plants, watering, weed control, hedge trimming in connection with the parish's churches, chapels, and community centers (not cemetery work). In winter, snow removal, to some extent manual shoveling, and ice/slip prevention are included.

Qualifications and experience

• Upper secondary education or other education considered equivalent.
• Professional experience from maintenance, operation, and upkeep of indoor and outdoor environments and/or corresponding education.
• You must be a member of the Church of Sweden and share the Church of Sweden's values.
• You have a Category B driver's license (also for manual transmission vehicles).

Employment percentage: 50%

Sunday work is included and irregular working hours may occur.
