The Heart Centre in Umeå aims to provide the best care for heart patients in northern Sweden. We offer highly specialized cardiac care and have overall responsibility for the county's patients.

The Heart Centre includes the cardiovascular clinic, thoracic surgery, cardiology, clinical physiology, and the Centre for Cardiovascular Genetics. We investigate, treat, and operate on patients from the entire northern region suffering from heart, lung, and coronary artery diseases. By collaborating across boundaries, having efficient care chains, working with continuous improvement, and employing competent staff, we can offer care of very high quality. We have approximately 400 employees at the Heart Centre.

The Thoracic Care Unit has 18 beds. Specialized care is provided on Thorax for patients undergoing surgery for heart, vascular, and lung diseases. Thorax has regional responsibility, and patients come here from all the northernmost counties.

On Thorax, you are welcome to a unit with well-developed routines. We offer varied and progressive work where your competence is valued to ensure the best for the patient. Job Description

As a nursing assistant (undersköterska) with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe.

As a nursing assistant on the care unit, you prepare and care for patients both before and after surgery. Care is provided in pairs. You will work together with nurses to identify risks, assess, monitor, intervene, and evaluate patients' various care needs. Monitoring vital parameters and documentation are also part of the job. As a nursing assistant, you have primary responsibility for wounds, nutrition, and mobilization of the patients.

On Thorax, we offer an individual introduction planned in consultation with you. It is a fun, varied, and challenging job where you have the opportunity to learn new things every day in a lovely work group. We always help each other, and we have good cooperation with other professional groups and between our units. The focus is always on the patient.

On Thorax, we also care about personal development and therefore have theme days and other internal training. Here we also offer the opportunity for personal development through the possibility of rotation between the care unit and the intermediate care unit.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a completed nursing assistant education. Since "undersköterska" is a protected title, you need to provide a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen), or alternatively, an employment certificate that ensures you are covered by the National Board of Health and Welfare's transitional provisions and can use the title until June 30, 2033.

We care for critically ill and newly operated patients with high-tech monitoring, so we wish for you to have previous experience in hospital care.
