International English School in Solna is hiring a qualified teacher in Music and Home Economics
International English School (IES) in Solna is a school covering grades 4–9 with approximately 800 students. We are currently looking for a qualified teacher for the lower secondary school level with subject competency in Music and Home Economics. The position is 60–80% and includes shared mentorship duties.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who are a qualified comprehensive school teacher with the eligibility to teach Home Economics. You have a positive view of people and the ability to build good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. As a teacher at IES, you find it fun, stimulating, and rewarding to teach students from various countries, and you give every student the opportunity to develop based on their own prerequisites and abilities.
You are clear and direct in your communication and have the ability to motivate and inspire students to absorb new knowledge. You express yourself well both orally and in writing in Swedish and English, and you have good knowledge of ICT as a pedagogical tool. You are a positive person with an inclusive approach, and you see school development in collaboration with colleagues and school leadership as important, educational, and interesting. You love seeing students succeed and want to play a key role in their success!
Your responsibilities
At IES Solna, we work to ensure that all our students achieve their full academic potential in a safe and calm learning environment. To make IES Solna a successful school, we utilize the students' various competencies, experiences, and diverse backgrounds, as well as their thoughts and feedback, in our work.
You will be part of a teaching team where time is allocated for jointly developing teaching and classroom leadership. Together with your colleagues, you create the conditions for students' knowledge development to meet the goals of the curriculum. You plan, implement, and evaluate teaching, and work to create a safe and stimulating learning environment. You take responsibility for systematically documenting, analyzing, evaluating, and following up on students' knowledge development.
You take initiative and exercise clear leadership in the classroom.
