Intensive care is an important and growing area of work.

The following units are looking for trainee nurses:

• Thoracic Intensive Care Unit
• Neuro Intensive Care Unit
• Intensive Care Unit

We are looking for you who are a qualified nurse and interested in further development within intensive care!

Through good collaboration within the region, efficient care chains, continuous improvement work, and competent staff, we can offer very high-quality care. In collaboration with the university, we conduct research, development, and education. As a trainee, you are offered the opportunity to receive educational grants during your training period (you apply for the education yourself using your own merits).

We are three departments included in the program. What we all have in common is that we work across clinics, care for patients with intensive care needs, and focus on ABCDE.

The Thoracic Intensive Care Unit/Thiva is tasked with postoperatively caring for the approx. 1,000 patients from the northern region who undergo heart and lung surgery. We also care for patients with severe heart and lung failure who need circulatory support such as ECMO, intra-aortic balloon pump, and dialysis.

Job Description

You work in a patient-centered manner, independently, and as part of a team with nursing assistants, doctors, and paramedical resources. The work consists of caring for intensive care patients, monitoring, and handling medical technology equipment in a high-tech environment. The work involves identifying, initiating, and performing ordered measures based on available information.

You will have the opportunity to try out the work as an intensive care nurse under supervision before further education. At the unit where you are admitted, you will be onboarded and expected to work after completing the education.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with curiosity and interest in intensive and postoperative care. You have formal eligibility to apply for further education within intensive care. Nursing C is a requirement, and university credits are meritorious. We would like you to have a few years of experience in emergency care. You also have at least 1 year of professional experience as a nurse.

The applicant sees service and flexibility as a matter of course, can handle acute and stressful situations, is interested in care development, and puts the patient in focus. Furthermore, you have good cooperation skills and the ability to create good relationships with colleagues, both externally and internally. You have a positive basic attitude towards change, quality, and development work.
