For our client Siemens Energy, a leading global player in the energy industry, we are now looking for a Mechanical Designer for a project at their site in Finspång.

This is initially a 12-month consultancy assignment via Unik Resurs with very good opportunities for extension.

Desired start date from client: September.

We apply rolling selection, which means the assignment may be filled earlier than the final application date.

Tasks and Responsibilities

In Turbine Design, they are responsible for the central components of the gas turbine, such as blades, guide vanes, and heat shields, as well as the turbine rotor. These are advanced and carefully manufactured details in the hottest parts of the turbine. In the group, we work with design, further development, and technical support related to our turbine components. The work covers the entire design chain from early concepts and technical choices to detailed design and finished product. An important part of the operation is also to support production and suppliers through deviation management, qualifications, and technical investigations. We are now looking for a consultant who wants to work with technical matters related to our turbine components. The assignment involves driving and coordinating matters coming from production and service.

With support from other groups within turbine R&D, such as cooling and strength engineers, you will work on:

• investigating and responding to deviations from internal and external production
• handling fault cases from the service operation
• updating standard documentation and technical documentation as needed

How the focus of the assignment looks may vary depending on background and experience. For some, the focus is more on investigation and coordination, for others more on design, drawing work, or technical dialogue with production and service.

Your Profile

You take responsibility, drive technical issues forward, and thrive in a role with many contact surfaces where collaboration with colleagues, production, and external suppliers is a natural part of everyday life. As a person, you are curious, communicative, and confident in asking questions and seeking support from others to find the best solutions.

Requirements

• Civil or university engineer in mechanical engineering
• A few years of experience as a designer
• Ability to drive technical issues forward
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English

Meritorious Requirements

• Experience in mechanical design
• Experience with CAD and detail drawings
• Experience with machining
• Experience working with external suppliers
