Storuman Municipality is located in the heart of beautiful Southern Lapland, characterized by its proximity to nature, an active outdoor lifestyle, and a high quality of life. Approximately 5,500 people live here, with just over half residing in the urban areas of Storuman/Stensele and Tärnaby/Hemavan.

Vallnässkolan is a grades 4–9 school with approximately 240 students. The school is located in the central town of Storuman, close to both the airport and larger settlements. We are looking for someone who wants to teach science and technology subjects in grades 7–9 and inspire students to explore their surroundings through natural sciences and technology. As a teacher, you will play a central role in sparking students' curiosity, problem-solving skills, and understanding of how theories and models connect with reality, through teaching that encourages investigative approaches and critical thinking.

You plan and conduct lessons that develop students' knowledge in natural sciences and technology, giving them room to experiment, analyze, and collaborate on issues related to both everyday life and the future.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have teacher certification for grades 7–9 with eligibility in science and technology, and preferably other complementary qualifications. You have good pedagogical skills, create safe and positive relationships, and are secure, flexible, and solution-focused in your teaching role. You work actively with core values, equal treatment, and professional interaction with students, guardians, and colleagues. You use digital tools as a natural part of teaching and contribute actively to an inclusive and positive school environment.

Since Storuman Municipality is a Sami administrative municipality, we view knowledge of the Sami language and culture as an asset.
