Operator for Boiler & Drying – Sikfors
Stenvalls Trä is looking for you to become our new operator for the Boiler & Drying department at the sawmill in Sikfors. Take the chance to become part of a team with extensive combined experience, joy of work, and a forward-looking spirit!
ABOUT THE JOB
The role of an operator at the Boiler & Drying department is independent and varied, offering you good opportunities to plan and organize the work together with the rest of the team to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. As an operator, you will work on optimizing the drying process that most of our timber goes through. Your main task is to ensure optimal moisture content for our different timber qualities before they are sent to customers or our facilities for further processing.
Many of the processes are automated, but since both the dryers and the boiler are in constant operation, monitoring must take place every day and at all times of the day. You will therefore be part of a group with on-call duties according to a rolling schedule.
Common tasks and responsibilities in the role include:
- Ensuring the facility operates efficiently and safely by monitoring the boiler's function via control systems and panels.
- Conducting rounds with checks to identify and rectify deviations or disturbances in the process.
- Preventive maintenance and simpler repairs on boilers, burners, pumps, and valves.
- Handling and monitoring the supply of fuel to the facility.
- Documenting in operation logs, logging deviations, and reporting to the responsible manager or mechanic as needed.
- Ensuring emissions remain within permitted limits to meet environmental requirements.
- Being responsible for the safe start-up and shutdown of the boiler facility in connection with maintenance or operational stoppages.
Responsibilities and tasks may vary and change over time, just as with our other roles.
WE BELIEVE YOU
- Maintain a strong focus on quality and safety.
- Have a solution-oriented and non-hierarchical approach.
- Are stimulated by varied and diverse work.
- Work with drive and take initiative.
- Enjoy learning new things and developing within technical areas.
- Like collaborating with others to achieve common goals.
We would appreciate it if you have experience from the sawmill industry, and if you have also worked with fuel boilers or drying processes, this is an advantage – but not an absolute requirement. In this recruitment, we place special emphasis on your personal qualities and your potential to build up important specialized competence for the business over time. On-call duties are included in this position.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
- Good understanding of Swedish (both spoken and written).
- Category B driver's license.
- C2 license (wheel loader).
- Ability to work intermittent 2-shift schedules, as well as according to an on-call schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS THAT ARE AN ADVANTAGE
- Experience from drying or boiler processes.
- Experience from the sawmill industry.
- Industrial education and/or experience.
WHAT WE OFFER YOU
- Stimulating and meaningful assignments in a cheerful team.
- Good opportunities for personal development and learning.
- Generous wellness allowance and discounts on various products and services within the Stenvalls Trä group.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
In this recruitment, we have chosen to use some selection questions that you are asked to answer when submitting your application. The position is a permanent employment with an initial probationary period of 6 months. Background checks are included as a natural part of this recruitment.
We look forward to receiving your application!
We are a genuine family business that started as a carpentry shop in Sikfors, Norrbotten, in 1947. A town surrounded by forest, a forest that we have used and processed since then. It is no exaggeration to say that we are at home in the forest and that we truly care for our hometown.
Perhaps that is why, since the beginning, we have always worked to use the forest we utilize as responsibly as possible. Utilize all parts. Optimize the yield. Therefore, we also process small-dimension timber where others turn logs into chips. We thought circularly and resource-efficiently long before we knew what sustainability was.
For us, it is natural to reinvest our profits into developing our business and indirectly being a motor for business life in the countryside. In recent years, we have reinvested no less than one billion in new technology and improved operations.
Today, we are 562 employees at 22 business locations with a turnover of 2.3 billion.
We have developed into a group, from saw chain to retail chain. Today, Stenvalls owns 12 XL-BYGG stores. In the group, we have also developed several other companies in different special areas, including Kallax Flyg and Genesis IT. A development journey that we have only just begun. Entrepreneurship is our lifeline, to constantly develop and become better.
