Social Studies Teacher for Vasastans Montessori School – 70%
Vasastans MontessoriförskolaStockholms län, Stockholm
Previous experience is desired
Do you have a genuine interest in pedagogy? Then you could be our new teacher!
Who are we?
Vasastans Montessori School is a small, non-profit independent school centrally located at Odenplan in Stockholm. We have just over 200 students from preschool to grade 9, good academic results, and high quality in our pedagogical operations. We are constantly working on development and see Montessori pedagogy as the foundation that should permeate the entire operation. Therefore, we place great importance on the learning environment and our approach to the student. Our core values are encapsulated in the keywords "student-centered", "safety", and "joyful learning".
We collaborate to meet the needs of all children and have a student health team consisting of special education teachers, a counselor, a school nurse, and the principal, who lead the student health work and can support you if needed.
The operation has a joint management team including the principal, two deputy principals, and the school's special education teachers.
Who are you?
You will work with our wonderful students in grades 6–9 and teach Social Studies (SO). We would prefer that you have experience with Montessori pedagogy or are curious to learn about it, as Montessori pedagogy is the foundation of our operation. You will be part of a work team consisting of teachers from grades 7–9, and the secondary school facilities are located on Sveavägen. The rest of the operation is located on Hälsingegatan, and we also have one of our preschools on Rödabergsgatan.
You need to have experience teaching Social Studies and preferably be certified. As we are a smaller operation, you need to be open to and interested in collaborating with other colleagues, as well as not being afraid to help out where needed. We are looking for someone who is calm, secure, and structured in their work. You should be flexible, proactive, interested in school development, and have the ability to plan teaching that suits both high-achieving students and students who need support in their development. The position may also include mentorship duties. Currently, the position is 70%, but it may potentially increase.
We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
We look forward to receiving your application!
