REGION KALMAR LÄNKalmar län, Västervik
Previous experience is desired
Here, you are offered a varied role as a nurse in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), where you rotate between our departments in day surgery and recovery at Västervik Hospital.
Our day surgery unit primarily performs elective surgeries that do not require hospital admission. Procedures are carried out under local anesthesia, nerve blocks, spinal anesthesia, or general anesthesia. Our patients come from various departments within the hospital, such as gynecology, obstetrics, endocrinology, urology, surgery, and orthopedics. We do not only run planned operations but also handle acute cases. As a nurse, you are responsible for receiving our patients, creating a sense of security, and preparing them for surgery together with your colleagues.
Adjacent to the day surgery unit is the recovery ward. Here, you monitor patients after surgery and ensure they receive the right care. You administer pain relief measures when necessary, assist with mobilization, and plan care activities for the patient. At the same time, you are involved in planning and coordinating the daily work. Surgeries vary from minor procedures with limited postoperative needs to more extensive surgeries requiring advanced postoperative care.
Working hours are scheduled for days and evenings, Monday to Friday.
About You
We are looking for a registered nurse with a few years of experience. Experience in intermediate care, surgical operations, or work on a recovery ward is advantageous.
To thrive in this role, you need to be proactive and flexible, as daily planning can change quickly based on the needs of patients and the department. You have the ability to prioritize, adapt to the situation, and make quick decisions when necessary. You value good collaboration and contribute actively by sharing your knowledge and experiences. With your commitment and positive attitude, you contribute to a good work climate where we work together to achieve the best and fastest care quality for our patients and our operations. We are a welcoming workplace characterized by care and respect, both towards patients and colleagues. You are service-oriented, communicative, and enjoy collaborating with other clinics and departments within the hospital.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Selection and appointment are made on an ongoing basis, so submit your application today!
