At Scandic Plaza in Umeå, our guests stay in a relaxed environment with views of the Umeå River, just a few blocks from the pedestrian street with its shopping and nightlife. Guests can stroll around town, spend time in our relaxation area, or enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel's restaurant. We are a team that works with great joy and engagement – we are proud of our workplace. Our employees are our greatest asset: here, you should thrive and develop. Through good leadership and collaboration between departments, we create fantastic hotel experiences for our guests.
We are now looking for a skilled employee for the restaurant at Scandic Plaza, Umeå.
Regardless of why the guest comes to us, few things are as appreciated as a friendly face welcoming them. You act as a host together with the rest of the hotel team and create a world-class guest experience.
Here, you will take significant responsibility for making the decisions required to satisfy the guest. The team develops and improves working methods and service as the external environment changes. We are convinced that it is when you are allowed to develop and contribute with all your competence and experience that we exceed the guest's expectations. As a bonus, we have fun at work!
So bring your experience, your engagement, and your way of thinking to us – and contribute to a culture where we truly care: about each other, our guests, and our planet. Welcome to Scandic!
What does the role involve?
You are the first person the guest meets in our restaurant, which is why it is crucial that you have a warm welcome, are attentive to details, and aware of the guest's needs. You have a burning interest in food and drink and enjoy order and tidiness, both in your own work and that of your colleagues. All of this to provide our guests with a fantastic dining experience. Your main tasks will be serving food and drinks and being responsible for your own cash register. You will also support the hotel team with other tasks as needed.
Who are you?
To fit the role, we believe you have at least two years of experience in similar work and experience in concept-driven operations. Since the job largely consists of communicating with guests, good knowledge of Swedish and English is a prerequisite. Speaking an additional language is an advantage.
However, the most important are your personal qualities and attitude. To fit the role, you need to be an attentive and non-hierarchical team player who takes great responsibility for your tasks and the overall result. It is also important that you can convey good hospitality to the hotel's guests.
Information about the position:
The position is an employment for occasional days on an as-needed basis.
We receive applications via our website. All applications will be processed continuously, and the position may be filled before the final application date, so we ask you to apply as soon as possible. In this recruitment, we use a simple service test during the selection process.
We look forward to welcoming you to Scandic!
On our website, you can read even more about the position, our benefits, and what it is like to work at Scandic!
We go further when differences are embraced. Here, you have the space to be yourself and develop in the direction you want, with secure conditions and fair agreements as a foundation. Bring your experience, your engagement, and your way of thinking to us – contribute to a culture where we truly care: about each other, our guests, and our planet. Welcome to Scandic.
