What we offer

The Medical Technology (MT) business area is responsible for over 64,000 medical technology products used in hospitals, health centers, and public dental clinics within Region Östergötland. The role includes user support, fault correction, preventive maintenance, operational customer dialogue, environmental monitoring, and procurement of medical technology products.

Medical Technology also contributes technical expertise in connection with the procurement of new products and systems, as well as in development and construction projects. The operations have a county-wide responsibility and are a central part of ensuring patient-safe and accessible care.

Job Description

As a Senior Medical Technology Engineer at Medical Technology, you work with medical technology systems within radiology, ultrasound, and imaging diagnostics. The role involves qualified technical responsibility and close collaboration with healthcare operations as well as colleagues within Medical Technology throughout the county, with a focus on long-term functionality, patient safety, and operational benefit.

Your main tasks include:

• Corrective and preventive maintenance of complex medical technology equipment
• In-depth troubleshooting, technical analysis, and advice to users and operations
• Planning, delivery, installation, and commissioning of new medical technology equipment

Based on your experience and competence, you are also expected to contribute to:

• Procurement of medical technology products and systems, including technical requirements and evaluations
• Projects and assignments with high technical complexity, both internally and at regional and national levels
• Knowledge transfer, mentoring, and support to colleagues in the field

Work Group

You will become part of a work group consisting of three people with 4–20 years of experience in medical technology work. The group is characterized by close collaboration, active knowledge sharing, and a shared responsibility for quality, patient safety, and development.

The work group is part of a unit with a total of 17 employees, where competence, collaboration, and experience exchange are central parts of daily work. Overall, the Medical Technology business area consists of approximately 80 employees, providing good opportunities for collegial support, specialist competence, and continued professional development within the organization.

About You

We are looking for you who have an education as a university engineer or a master's engineer, or equivalent knowledge through relevant work experience and education. You also have:

• Experience with medical technology equipment
• Experience with service, operation, or maintenance in technology-intensive environments
• Experience with project work

You have good knowledge of Swedish and technical English, both spoken and written. A category B driver's license is required for the position. IT competence and experience with IT-related system environments and procurement are also meritorious.
