Job Description

As a car mechanic for our client in Strängnäs, you are responsible for troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing passenger vehicles to ensure functionality, safety, and quality before delivery or after repairs. You will work in a workshop environment alongside technicians and administrative staff, where precision, clear documentation, and problem-solving are central. The role involves both mechanical work, electrical checks, test drives, and verification of completed actions.

Main Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, repairs, and component replacements according to manufacturer instructions and workshop procedures
• Conduct diagnostics using diagnostic tools, read error codes, and suggest appropriate measures
• Check brakes, steering, suspension, lighting, tires, exhaust systems, and vehicle electronics
• Conduct test drives and functional tests to verify that measures have been carried out correctly
• Document completed work in the workshop system and report deviations or the need for further actions
• Collaborate with colleagues to reproduce faults, plan work, and ensure high quality
• Ensure order and safety in the work area and follow routines for occupational health and environmental management

Qualifications

• Education in automotive mechanics or equivalent practical experience from a workshop is advantageous
• Experience in troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing passenger vehicles is desirable
• Good familiarity with diagnostic tools and electronic control systems
• Good computer skills for documentation in administrative systems
• Ability to communicate clearly in Swedish, both verbally and in writing
• Precise, safety-conscious, and solution-oriented with good teamwork skills
• Category B driver's license (manual transmission) is required
