Now is the opportunity to take the next step as a Systems Engineer within the defense industry, in a company experiencing strong growth and developing cutting-edge complex systems.
In this role, you will help further develop the technology behind modern missile systems – from early requirement specifications to verified final products. You will become part of an experienced team with a strong technical focus, clear processes, and excellent opportunities for learning and mentorship. The position can be located in Karlstad or Karlskoga.
About the Role
As a Systems Engineer, you will work with system and product safety in the development of advanced defense products, primarily missile systems. The work covers the entire product development process and is based on requirements and wishes from customers or other stakeholders.
Together with the team, you will compile requirements, identify and analyze safety risks, and develop, document, and follow up on safety requirements. You will actively participate in design and analysis work, conduct tests and verifications, and ensure that the final product meets both internal and external requirements from a system safety perspective.
The role involves close collaboration with those responsible for subsystems and components, as well as work in cross-functional project teams consisting of systems engineers, test leaders, and specialists in areas such as software, mechanics, electronics, and strength of materials. You will handle several parallel projects with varying scope and pace and are expected to work in a structured manner according to established processes and methods.
As a new hire, you will be offered a structured introduction and assigned an experienced mentor, creating good conditions for both knowledge transfer and long-term development.
Your Profile
We are looking for you who have a strong technical interest and thrive in complex environments where details, the overall perspective, and safety are crucial. You are meticulous, structured, and responsible, and have a natural curiosity that leads you to delve deeper into how advanced systems work. You are motivated by working systematically and enjoy following a product through the entire development chain – from requirements to verification.
You are solution-oriented, flexible, and adaptable, and find it easy to collaborate with others. At the same time, you are comfortable seeking support and feedback from more experienced colleagues. The ability to see connections, understand risks, and weigh different solutions against each other is central to the role.
Must-have requirements for the position:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics/Product Development/Equivalent
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in technical development with work against requirements, or equivalent experience through thesis, trainee, or junior role
- Basic experience or a clear interest in system and/or product safety
- Ability and willingness to work through the entire development process, from requirements to verification
- Fluent Swedish and English in speech and writing
Meritorious for the position:
- Experience from thesis, project work, or work involving system safety or product development
- Knowledge of safety standards such as MIL-STD 882E or equivalent
- Experience from the defense industry, automotive industry, or other technology-intensive and regulated operations
- Experience working in cross-functional and/or project-based teams
Pre-employment, you must undergo a security interview and be approved according to current security clearance regulations.
