Airworthiness Engineer TP84

About the position

The Technology and Maintenance Division (TVA) is the Air Force's technical office responsible for maintaining continued airworthiness and maintenance production, modification activities, and common technical issues for all air material systems in the Swedish Armed Forces.

 

To the section at the Air Staff in Såtenäs, we are now seeking an Airworthiness Engineer (LVI) for Transport Aircraft System 84 (Hercules). The role is primarily linked to LVI TP84, where you are responsible for ensuring continued airworthiness, technical follow-up, and maintenance of the system's operational capability.

The Transport Detail is in a development phase that also includes the introduction of the C-390, which means you will work in an environment where several transport aircraft systems are handled in parallel. Although your main task is linked to TP84, there is some cross-responsibility within the detail, where you contribute technical competence and collaboration across system boundaries.

The LVI is operationally and functionally led by the Maintenance Leader (VMHL) and the Technical Manager for Material System (TCM) for TP84. The position involves bringing forward, for the unit and the Swedish Armed Forces, common issues to relevant authorities within FMV and industry, i.e., working for unit adaptation and operational usability of Transport Aircraft System 84. You propose measures by implementing/acting as technical and tactical decision support for the Swedish Armed Forces and FMV, primarily towards Air Material/TP84.

Main tasks

  • Represents the TCM regarding their tasks within continued airworthiness
  • Monitors the airworthiness within the air material system
  • Provides technical support to relevant actors within aviation maintenance and participates in development, problem-solving, and material status within the aircraft system together with the TCM and other employees in the detail
  • Adapts approved data for operators and leads the handling of Technical Orders
  • Works with maintenance issues and ensures that CAME and cost-effectiveness are considered during design, introduction, maintenance, and decommissioning of material
  • Supports monitoring, analysis, and development of maintenance programs.

REQUIREMENTS 

Qualifications

 

  • Specialist Officer SO7, or alternatively civilian with competence deemed equivalent by the employer
  • Trained aviation technician, relevant aviation or engineering education, or equivalent work experience that can be assessed as equivalent by the employer
  • Several years of experience in working with the management of continued airworthiness (within CAMO)
  • Good knowledge of relevant regulations (RML, SE-EMAR Part M or EASA Part M/Part 145)
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Category B driver's license.

MERITORIOUS

  • Type course on C-130H or another aircraft system
  • Experience of aviation maintenance or work with continued airworthiness within the Swedish Armed Forces
  • Experience of working with processes within the Swedish Armed Forces' material production, material supply, and maintenance production
  • Experience of working with operational follow-up and support systems used within the Swedish Armed Forces (Fenix, Prio, Lift, etc.).
