Apply to become a Special Needs Teacher at our Adapted Upper Secondary School

Our adapted upper secondary school is growing, and we are now looking for you who want to join our team. We share facilities with the main upper secondary school in Liljeholmen. For autumn 2026, we need to expand our staff with several colleagues who are certified teachers with special educational needs qualifications specifically for intellectual disabilities. We are currently recruiting teachers, primarily with backgrounds in early childhood education, Swedish, mathematics, physical education and health, history, and social studies.

You have a strong focus on students and are a relational teacher with the ability to adapt your teaching to meet students' needs. Together with your colleagues, you work on collegial learning and systematic pedagogical development. As a special needs teacher with us, you will meet students on the national programs for Health, Care and Social Work, as well as Commerce and Services. The role includes mapping students' study situations, support needs, and adaptations. Communication with guardians and external contacts with authorities are also part of the job. We want you to be driven by creating good connections with the surrounding society.

The unit for adapted upper secondary education is in both a development phase and an expansion phase. This gives you great opportunities to influence routines and how the operations should develop. Our schools work from a strong value base regarding young people's civic engagement and the equal value of all individuals, which is why it is important to us that you share our values.

Qualifications

To apply, you must have completed your special needs teacher education with a focus on intellectual disabilities (IF) as an addition to your teaching license. We also appreciate if you have experience working in an adapted upper secondary school.

We are looking for someone who is flexible, confident, communicative, receptive, and able to choose different approaches to find solutions. You are unpretentious and thrive in an environment where we collaborate and help each other to develop professional profiles and teaching methods.

You should enjoy working with young people in general and be driven by supporting their development towards stronger self-esteem and self-efficacy. We value your ability to meet students based on their knowledge and needs, as well as your ability to build good relationships. It is important to us that you collaborate well with your colleagues and become a positive force in our work towards a more humane society.
