A day as a temporary worker in care and elderly care

Working in care and elderly care is varied and enjoyable. The job involves supporting people in their daily lives. Your tasks may vary depending on which activity you choose to work in and who you help.

As a casual employee in Krokom, you are employed by the Staffing Pool. You choose the area and workplaces in consultation with us at the pool, after which we schedule you for an introduction. Once the introduction is completed and approved, you can be booked for jobs. More information about the introduction and the systems we use will be provided when we invite you for an interview.

The activities we staff are:

Home Help Services: Föllinge, Offerdal, Nälden, Krokom, Ås, and the Night Patrol

Special Housing: Blomtergården in Krokom, Hällebo in Offerdal, and Solbacka in Föllinge

Support and Service: Group homes, service apartments, day activities, and personal assistance

The most common tasks can be divided into four categories:

• Helping in the home environment: such as cleaning, washing, making the bed, shopping, and cooking.
• Personal care: helping with showering and toilet visits, dressing, trimming nails, shaving, or helping during meals.
• Activities: Your assignment also includes performing various activities for those you help. Some people have planned activities that you ensure they attend, but sometimes it can be your own ideas, such as organizing a celebration, a movie night, or going for a walk.
• Medical tasks: such as checking blood pressure, applying bandages, or administering medication. This is a task you receive only after working for a while and completing specific training.

Requirements

• Category B driver's license to work within home help services and certain workplaces within support and service
• You must be at least 18 years old to be employed by the Staffing Pool

Merits for the position

• Nursing assistant education
• Category B driver's license
• If you are studying the Care and Nursing Program
• Previous experience from the care profession
