Part-time Cleaner for Birgittaskolan and Åsbackaskolan

About Birgittaskolan

All students have the right to a school that gives them the opportunity to develop based on their own prerequisites. SPSM runs schools on behalf of the state. We offer students a learning environment that gives them the opportunity for participation, learning, and development. We offer meaningful, stimulating, and important pedagogical work at our schools.

Birgittaskolan in Örebro has bilingual education in a sign language environment for students from preschool class through grade 10. Our students receive instruction in both Swedish Sign Language and written Swedish. We offer housing for students who cannot commute to school every day.

Birgittaskolan is a state special school for students who are deaf or have a hearing impairment. The school is located in Örebro and receives students from the counties of Dalarna, Södermanland, Värmland, Västmanland, Örebro, and Östergötland.

We offer our students an environment that provides opportunities for participation and development. Everyone can participate in social interaction, feel a sense of belonging, and develop as individuals in a bilingual education in a sign language environment.

At Birgittaskolan, we have very good access to various professions in our student health team and to digital learning tools in a well-equipped IT environment.

We are approximately 100 employees who work at the school or in our student residences.

Job Duties

Birgittaskolan and Åsbackaskolan are looking for a part-time cleaner.

As a cleaner, you will take care of the daily cleaning at Birgittaskolan and Åsbackaskolan, which consists of educational, meeting, and office spaces, as well as common areas.

Your main task will be general cleaning duties in all premises and spaces, and naturally, providing the best service. Depending on needs, some kitchen duties may also occur.

The position is a part-time temporary assignment.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• At least 1 year of experience and knowledge of cleaning work within school operations or what the employer deems equivalent.
• An interest in learning sign language.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience with SPSM's target group.
• Experience meeting students with various disabilities in your daily work.
• Experience working within government operations.
• Knowledge of Swedish Sign Language.

Personal Qualities

As an employee, you should:

• Be driven, self-motivated, structured, and have an eye for what needs to be done.
• Be unpretentious and service-oriented.
• Have good prioritization skills.
• Have good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Have good ability to formulate yourself in written Swedish.
• Take great responsibility for independent work.

Employment Type: Fixed-term employment.

A certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) must be presented prior to employment.
