Do you want to take a key role in shaping and optimizing global supplier strategies in a high-tech and regulated environment? As Direct Sourcing Lead, you will step into a strategic assignment with one of QRIOS Life Sciences' partners in Uppsala – where your expertise becomes a driving force in securing quality, cost-efficiency, and long-term supply.

This is your initial assignment as a consultant at QRIOS, with great opportunities for further development through new assignments within our network. We operate broadly across the Mälaren Valley (from Södertälje to Uppsala), Gothenburg, and Scania – and always base our assignments on where you want to work. Our assignments are geographically clustered, creating sustainable and long-term conditions.

In the role of Direct Sourcing Lead, you have overall responsibility for sourcing strategies and supplier relations within assigned categories.

• Lead the development and implementation of sourcing strategies to create competitive advantages
• Responsible for the entire procurement cycle: RFQ, negotiation, contracts, and purchasing
• Drive cost reduction, KPI monitoring, and delivery precision
• Ensure supplier performance and continuous improvement
• Conduct cost and process analyses for optimal total cost of ownership
• Work systematically with risk and spend analysis
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to qualify and develop suppliers
• Build strategic partnerships and drive supplier integration in NPI/NPD processes
• Handle deviations related to quality, delivery, and payment flows
• Follow global market trends and regulatory requirements
• Ensure implementation of supplier agreements and report to senior decision-makers

Profile requirements – how you match the role:

• Academic degree in fields such as chemistry, engineering, or technology or equivalent experience (minimum 8–9 years in strategic sourcing/procurement)
• Extensive experience in direct procurement, sourcing strategies, and working in a regulated environment (GMP)
• Experience from Life Science, biotech, or the pharmaceutical industry is highly advantageous
• Documented ability to lead global tenders and supplier negotiations
• Strong analytical skills and business acumen
• Experience implementing and working with compliant supply chains
• Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP or Oracle) and analysis tools
• Very good skills in Excel and PowerPoint
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or certifications in procurement/supply chain (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, PMP)
• Experience with Lean/Greenbelt
• Swedish language skills (spoken and written)
