About the role

In the role of Structural Engineer, you will become part of a highly competent team of approximately 30 people – a mix of designers and structural engineers. The team works on technically challenging and long-term development projects, primarily related to the civil aviation industry, but also military. Here you will have the opportunity to work on truly advanced flying structural components – often made of composite or combinations of composite and metal – where the requirements for safety, quality, and engineering rigor are very high. The work covers the entire chain from concept to certification.

Examples of tasks:

• Perform static structural analyses as well as fatigue and crack growth analyses
• Build, run, and evaluate FEM models
• Prepare and review certification reports for flying structural components
• Participate in conceptual work and technical decisions together with designers
• Work with technical investigations and optimizations

As a new employee, you will receive a thorough introduction where you will jump into a project immediately, while simultaneously participating in an onboarding program. In the role of Structural Engineer, you are encouraged to build broad competence in areas such as composites, metals, manual calculations, fasteners, and various analysis methods, depending on the aircraft platform and customer requirements. For more experienced engineers, there are good opportunities to take greater technical responsibility, act as a mentor for younger colleagues, and contribute to method development and long-term competence building within the team.

Requirements for the position:

• University education in mechanical engineering/structural mechanics/vehicle technology or equivalent
• Work experience in structural analysis/design work
• Fluent English in speech and writing
• Willingness and ambition to learn good Swedish and live long-term in the vicinity of Linköping
• Experience or interest in composite and/or metal structures

Merits for the position:

• Good understanding of FEM analyses and engineering calculations
• Ability to take technical responsibility and support/lead others

Pre-employment requires you to undergo a security interview and be approved according to current security clearance regulations.
