About the position

We are looking for a special educator for Brickebacken Adapted Primary School. In this role, you will work both strategically and operationally to support students' development and learning. Your main duties include supervision, pedagogical assessments, as well as follow-up and evaluation of implemented measures. As a special educator, you have good knowledge of student development and learning and can identify needs at the organizational, group, and individual levels. You have the ability to lead, coach, and collaborate with various professional groups around the student, as well as initiate and drive pedagogical development.

You are an important part of the school's student health team and safety team. The work is done in close collaboration with the principal and deputy principal. The assignment offers great scope for your own professionalism, responsibility, and the opportunity to influence the development of the operations.

Examples of duties:

  • Work in a promoting and preventive manner, as well as follow up and evaluate implemented measures together with those involved.
  • Conduct pedagogical assessments regarding the need for special support.
  • Work together with school management, the student health team, and other school staff to create an accessible and good learning environment for the students.
  • Be responsible for being a qualified conversational partner, supervise teachers and school staff, and initiate appropriate measures in collaboration with other professional groups based on students' needs.
  • Independently lead and support the development of the pedagogical work to meet the needs of all students.

About the workplace

Brickebacken Adapted Primary School currently has approximately 60 students and an equal number of staff in various professions. The overall goal of the operation is to support the student towards a comprehensive development that serves as a good foundation for a meaningful adult life. We have students studying subjects and subject areas from grades 1-9.

Qualifications

In the role of special educator, you work close to the operations and are available to the work teams. You are confident in your role, take responsibility for your tasks, and understand that people acquire knowledge in different ways. You are responsive, flexible, and collaborate well with others. Since the position involves some freedom under responsibility, you need the ability to structure your tasks and continuously maintain your specialist knowledge as you are a knowledge resource for others. Furthermore, you must master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with children, relatives, and other staff, as well as document what the operations require in writing. Since the work involves digital documentation, good computer skills are also required.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Requirements

  • Teaching license with authorization to teach in primary school, or alternatively a qualifying degree that entitles you to a teaching license.
  • Special education degree, 90 ECTS credits.

Merits
