As a Technical Specialist in Signalling at the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket), you will help facilitate daily life for residents and businesses across Sweden. You will have the opportunity to contribute your expertise to exciting and varied railway projects throughout the country. We are currently looking for someone who is passionate about signalling technology and wishes to develop in a role with significant responsibility and numerous points of contact.

Responsibilities

As a signalling specialist, you will be part of a section where, together with other specialists within BEST (Track, Electricity, Signalling, and Telecommunications), you support projects from the planning phase to the completed facility, acting as the client. You will assist in drafting scope of work documents for consultancy and contracting assignments, as well as defining project and contract requirements and following up on them within your specialist area. You will have coordination responsibility for specialist groups within BEST in projects and represent them in various contexts. You will also participate in various development projects.

Your responsibilities include:

• Providing technical support in signalling technology for railway projects.
• Acting as a coordinating specialist and supporting projects with coordination within BEST.
• Being knowledgeable about regulations, statutes, and standards, and participating in updates and the creation of technical documents, standards, etc.
• Following developments and keeping up to date within your specialist area.
• Contributing to knowledge transfer between completed and newly started projects.

Qualifications

You are a person with good analytical skills who develops solutions from a holistic perspective. You take independent initiative, plan, and structure work to then, in collaboration with others, find solutions that benefit all parties. You have a view of the entire organization, are communicative, and adapt your communication to the recipient, explaining your message in a simple and clear way.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A technical university degree in signalling or another education combined with current and relevant experience deemed equivalent by Trafikverket
• Many years of relevant and current experience working with signalling technology in railways
• Knowledge of Trafikverket's regulations and statutes governing signalling technology
• Good skills in Swedish, both spoken and written

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in project planning within signalling
• Production technical experience within railways
• Knowledge of contract law (AB, ABK, and/or ABT)
• Experience of working in a coordinating role
• Knowledge of other parts within BEST (track, electricity, and telecommunications)
• Good skills in English, both spoken and written
