As a technical specialist in signaling at the Swedish Transport Administration, you will help facilitate the everyday lives of residents and businesses across Sweden. You will have the opportunity to contribute your expertise to exciting and varied railway projects throughout the country. We are currently looking for someone who is passionate about signaling technology and wants to develop in a role with great responsibility and many points of contact.
Specialist in signaling with coordination BEST Job Responsibilities
As a signaling specialist, you will be part of a section where you, together with other specialists within BEST, support projects from the planning phase to completed installations in the role of client. You will help develop task descriptions for consulting and contracting assignments, set project and contract requirements, and follow up on these within your area of expertise. You will have coordination responsibility in projects for specialist groups within BEST and represent them in various contexts. You will also participate in various development projects.
Your job responsibilities include:
- Providing technical support in signaling technology in railway projects.
- Being a coordinating specialist and supporting projects with coordination within BEST.
- Being knowledgeable about regulations, directives, and standards, as well as participating in updates and the development of technical documents, standards, etc.
- Keeping up with developments and staying updated in your area of expertise.
- Contributing to the feedback of experiences between completed and newly started projects.

Possible locations are Karlskrona, Malmö, Kristianstad, Växjö, Jönköping, and Linköping.

QualificationsYou are a person with good analytical skills who develops solutions from a holistic perspective. You take initiative independently, plan and structure your work, and then collaborate with others to find solutions that benefit all parties. You consider the entire organization, are communicative, and adapt your communication to the recipient, explaining your message in a simple and clear manner.
We are looking for someone who has:
- a technical engineering degree or university education in signaling, or another education combined with relevant and current experience that the Swedish Transport Administration considers equivalent
- many years of relevant and current experience working with signaling technology in railways
- knowledge of the Swedish Transport Administration's regulations and directives regarding signaling technology
- good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
It is advantageous if you have:
- experience in signaling design
- production technical experience in railways
- knowledge of contract law AB, ABK, and/or ABT
- experience working in a coordinating role
- knowledge of other areas within BEST (track, electrical, and telecommunication)
- good knowledge of English in both spoken and written form
