Magelungen Development is an employee-owned company offering qualified treatment and change work for children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. Magelungen operates treatment programs and resource schools at the primary and upper secondary levels. The goal is to create a context within the operations that is manageable, meaningful, and comprehensible. Research and evaluation are integrated parts of all our activities.

Do you want to help create the resource school of the future – where students can develop, succeed, and feel hope?

About Us

Magelungen's resource school in Västerås is designed for students with extensive needs for special support who require a smaller context to benefit from instruction. The pedagogical environment is well-thought-out and adapted to the students' needs. The groups are small, teacher density is high, and student health services are strengthened to give each student the opportunity to develop in their studies and feel successful. Our staff are dedicated and experienced in working with students who, for various reasons, have not been able to thrive in their previous home schools. We have a systemic and salutogenic perspective, focusing on working with the whole and building on what works. Our goal is to offer a context where every student has a chance to succeed based on their individual prerequisites. Together, we create hope and make a difference!

About the Position

As a teacher at Magelungen, you will work actively in the school environment alongside your teaching duties, with responsibility for instruction and coaching. The focus is on strengthening, affirming, and supporting students both in the classroom and outside of it. You will work in close collaboration with the school leadership, other educators, and student health services, starting from the students' competencies, strengths, and resources, and utilizing these to practice on challenging areas.

The assignment is challenging and involves a changing student environment with many simultaneous demands and close relational work. It places high demands on structure, flexibility, and endurance, but also offers great opportunities to make a real difference.

In your daily work, you focus on the students' resources and competencies, working together with them towards their own goals. You collaborate closely with school leadership, colleagues, and student health services, contribute to development work, and create teaching that combines knowledge, structure, and relationships in a context characterized by trust, warmth, and endurance.

We are seeking a licensed primary school teacher with qualification in English and another subject/subjects. You have previous experience working in primary school, and special pedagogical education is an asset.

The work requires collaboration skills, endurance, and a solution-focused approach. You will become an important part of a dedicated team where we together create structure, security, and development for students in need of special support. The school is exclusively for students with extensive needs for special support, so we prefer candidates with experience working with this specific student category.

Our Offer
