We are currently seeking a full-time piano teacher at Västerås Cultural School! With us, you will work in a creative and inspiring environment where joy and learning are at the forefront.

Your Responsibilities

You will teach students aged 8–20, both individually and in groups. Teaching younger children may also be relevant, e.g., through "Piano/Music Play" or similar activities. In your immediate subject team (Piano/Keyboard), you will join a group of skilled, experienced, and welcoming colleagues. Together, you will organize student concerts, events, and collaborations with other colleagues, sharing responsibilities for various tasks. Upon request, it may be possible to split the position into two part-time roles, although we prefer a full-time commitment.

Teaching is primarily scheduled for afternoons and evenings. Weekend work may also occur, for example, for certain concerts.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone with an adequate pedagogical university education or other equivalent education/experience that we deem comparable.

You have experience in piano teaching both in groups and individually, as well as excellent piano playing skills with a broad range of genres and techniques. You are also curious about trying and developing new methods and ways of working. Experience in teaching young children, e.g., through Suzuki teaching, rhythmics, or similar, secondary instruments, ensemble leadership, computer/music software, sound technology, and experience in activities for people with disabilities is an asset.

You are well-structured and have a good understanding of how students absorb knowledge in different ways. You create varied learning situations inside and outside the classroom, preferably in collaboration with colleagues. You enjoy working both individually and in joint projects, prioritize the common good over personal interests, and are driven by a love for music, your instrument, and the teaching profession.

Teaching takes place primarily in our well-equipped facilities at Växhuset, where you will have the opportunity to develop students' abilities both individually and in groups. Additional Information

Before you can be employed, you must present an approved extract from the police criminal record register.

In connection with the interview, you need to verify your citizenship. This can be done with a passport or alternatively a certificate of citizenship together with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the obligation to have a work permit. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Act.
