We are looking for a Network Technician who wants to shape and develop our IT infrastructure, primarily our networks, together with our other colleagues. Exciting work regarding digitalization is underway at Västervik Municipality. To support this work, we are now creating a new, cohesive unit for IT and digitalization. The unit will support the municipality's operations in digitalizing, streamlining, and changing working methods with the help of IT solutions, among other things.

Your Responsibilities

You will be one of our colleagues in the infrastructure group, supporting each other. You will work closely with the systems group and other colleagues within the IT unit. As a Network Technician, you will work with the operation, installation, maintenance, and management of our network environments. We have started a review of our network infrastructure to meet future needs, which will also be part of your work. You will work with:

• Operation and management of network equipment such as switches, routers, access points, firewalls, and VPN technology.
• Troubleshooting network problems and analyzing logs.
• System administration of support systems linked to the network infrastructure.
• Contributing to building and managing the network structure with a high focus on security.
• Supporting the business in the selection of technical solutions and participating in the evaluation of development initiatives.
• You are responsible for implementation in specific assignments.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone with a post-secondary education with a focus on IT or equivalent current professional experience and competence in the field that we at Västervik Municipality assess as equivalent. You must also have a B driver's license. You have experience working as a Network Technician and good professional experience with firewalls, switches, routers, and other network devices.

It is an asset if you have knowledge in:

• Knowledge of servers (Windows/Linux), including installation, maintenance, and security.

You are a team player who likes to collaborate and share your knowledge, while also having the ability to take your own initiatives and drive your work forward. It is also important that you can communicate fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written, and have good knowledge of English.

Before an employment offer can be made, a security clearance will be conducted, and the position may also involve a security classification.
