We are now looking for an engaged employee who wants to contribute to strengthening our IT security and be an important part of the municipality's continued digital journey. This is a role for you who want to contribute to a secure and stable IT environment.

Exciting work regarding digitalization is underway in Västervik Municipality. To support this work, we are now creating a new cohesive unit for IT and digitalization. The unit will support the municipal group's operations to digitalize, streamline, and change ways of working with, among other things, support from IT solutions.

Your Tasks

As an IT Technician with a focus on security and monitoring, you will have a central role in implementing, maintaining, and further developing our IT security functions.

In close collaboration with our IT Security Coordinator and other employees, you will monitor the IT environment to identify and analyze security incidents. You will work on configuring our security and log management tools and perform log and event analysis together with other technicians.

You will have an important role in the handling and investigation of IT security incidents, participate in vulnerability analyses, risk assessments, and security tests. You will follow up on security measures and report to responsible functions, while contributing to the development of routines, processes, and policy documents. Collaboration with system owners and other IT functions is part of the work to strengthen proactive security work.

You will help build a culture where security awareness and secure behaviors are a natural part of everyday life.

Your Competence

We are looking for you who have a post-secondary education with a focus on IT or equivalent current professional experience and competence in the area that we consider equivalent.

You have a good understanding of networks, log management, IT infrastructure, and have extensive experience with Windows operating systems for both servers and clients, and preferably also Linux.

As a person, we are looking for you who are independent, goal-oriented, have very good knowledge in the service areas, and are driven by development. It is important that you are service-oriented and communicative so that you can provide support in the questions our operations have in your area. To succeed in the role, we also see that you have a strong problem-solving ability and always take personal responsibility for your tasks and drive your work independently.

It is important that you have good knowledge, both written and spoken, in Swedish. The position is characterized by a thorough security and confidentiality mindset which you need to bring with you.

For this position, you also need to have a B-class driver's license.
