Are you a person who wants to drive the planning of facility adaptations, operation and maintenance plans, as well as cost estimates? As a Facility Coordinator at Malmö Municipality, you will strategically develop the property portfolio and create sustainable solutions in close collaboration with operations, property owners, and contractors.

Responsibilities

As a Facility Coordinator with a strategic focus, you are responsible for developing and planning the administration's property portfolio in the long term. The assignment is to ensure that our facilities are functional, sustainable, and cost-effective – both today and in the future.

You work proactively to analyze needs, identify development opportunities, and develop strategies for, for example, the establishment of new housing, renovations and extensions, as well as space efficiency improvements. The role includes preparing long-term forecasts, investment calculations, and impact analyses that form the basis for well-founded decisions.

A central part of the assignment is to translate the needs of operations into concrete facility strategies and create a holistic perspective regarding capacity, economy, and quality. You will collaborate closely with other facility coordinators, the property controller, and City Properties, where you jointly drive the development of future facility solutions.

The role requires the ability to work in a complex organization with multiple stakeholders and parallel processes. You need the ability to handle uncertainty, make prioritizations, and prepare decision-making materials that balance operational benefits, economic consequences, and long-term sustainability.

You are expected to have a strategic holistic view, while also being able to switch to more operational tasks when needed, for example in connection with planning facility adaptations or in dialogue with property owners and project actors.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has

  • A Bachelor's degree in, for example, property management, technical administration, law, social sciences, or Urban Studies
  • Documented experience of similar tasks
  • Good knowledge of the laws and regulations applicable in the field
  • Experience in property economics and property management
  • Experience in property development
  • Experience of working in a project format, for example by planning, driving, or participating in projects
  • Basic computer skills and good skills in working with Excel
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written – especially important as the position involves extensive documentation
  • Class B driver's license

It is an advantage if you have

  • Experience from municipal operations

To succeed in the role as a Facility Coordinator, you are strategically responsible for developing and optimizing the property portfolio based on the needs of the operations. You have a good holistic view and look out for the best interests of the operations in complex contexts, work structured and independently, and maintain calm in changing situations. With high collaboration and communication skills, you switch smoothly between strategic planning and operational follow-up.
