Komvux Malmö is seeking a caretaker for a permanent position as one of our colleagues is retiring.

Job Responsibilities

As a caretaker at Komvux Malmö, you will be responsible for the daily operations and ensuring that the facility's premises are functional, safe, and well-organized. The work is varied and adapted to the needs of the operations, where service, coordination, and problem-solving are central parts of the assignment. Your main duties include:

• Preparing premises for teaching, meetings, and other activities
• Performing maintenance, repairs, and assembly of furniture and equipment in the premises
• Handling internal moves, rearrangements, and relocation of furnishings (the position involves heavy lifting and can be physically demanding)
• Managing incoming deliveries such as goods, couriers, and packages, ensuring correct receipt
• Managing inventory, consumables, and ordering
• Handling and following up on fault reports
• Managing alarms, keys, access cards/tags, and changing lock cylinders
• Working continuously with systematic fire protection work (SBA), including documentation in a digital system
• Participating in goods receipt and coordinating deliveries
• Performing certain IT-related services, such as installation and maintenance of conference equipment, and providing basic IT support to staff and students

The work also involves informing, guiding, and coordinating regarding daily operations, as well as taking responsibility for the overall condition of the premises and contributing to a good and safe working environment.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• High school diploma with a vocational technical focus
• Class B driver's license
• Current experience in a similar role within the service sector
• Digital competence, meaning it is natural to use digital tools as work aids, with a willingness and ability to learn new programs and systems.
• Good Swedish in speech and writing.

Merits:

• Other vocational education with a technical focus on real estate
• Experience with practical work in maintenance and property management
• Experience with basic electrical and plumbing work
• Experience working in digital systems
• Experience with technical service of commercial kitchen equipment.

You are meticulous and well aware of goals and quality standards. Furthermore, the work requires you to be confident in making independent decisions and taking a stand on issues when necessary, as well as planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work effectively. You value diversity and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect oneself and others.
