The Position and Responsibilities

Your role as a school nurse involves collaborating with school leadership, student health personnel, and other school staff to create the best possible conditions for students' health, learning, and safety, based on your nursing expertise.

The role of a school nurse entails working in a health-promoting and preventive manner in accordance with the municipality's basic program and the regulatory documents found in the Health and Medical Services Act and the Education Act, as well as guidelines for student health. Your duties include health check-ups, health consultations, vaccinations, an open reception, and joint consultations with the school doctor.

As a school nurse with us, you will be part of our student health team. You will also work closely with other members of the student health team, other educators, and parents. You should have a willingness to further develop the work of a school nurse together with our student health team, educators, and other colleagues at the school. You will document in the journal system ProRenata.

Malmsjö School is a grades 1-9 school with approximately 480 students, located by Malmsjön lake and close to beautiful natural areas. With its location on the outskirts of Botkyrka municipality, there is excellent communication to Tumba, Södertälje, and Nynäshamn.

You will be part of a school nurse group in Botkyrka municipality with many experienced school nurses. Centrally in the municipality, there is an operations manager for health and medical personnel and a centrally employed school nurse whom you can contact regarding professional issues.

The Ideal Candidate

Requirements: - Licensed nurse with specialized education in health and medical care for children and adolescents or open health and medical care, alternatively school nurse education via Skövde University.

Merits: - We prefer that you have experience from similar work or other work within healthcare directed at children and adolescents.

- We expect you to be accustomed to using digital tools, and it is a merit if you have experience documenting in the journal system ProRenata.

- Documented further education in MI (Motivational Interviewing).

You should be responsible and able to structure and organize your work independently, but also possess good collaboration skills. You find development work exciting and want to take an active role in our student health team. You take the initiative to develop your own competence to also develop the operations. You have empathy in meetings with other people and have a genuine interest in working with children and adolescents. Meeting parents and external contacts is also part of the role, so you need to find it easy to communicate and meet people. You always maintain a professional approach and are good at meeting children and adolescents where they are.
