About the workplace
We are part of Ersta diakoni and provide daily support and care to enable our clients to continue living at home. We operate home care services in the Stockholm area, Gävle, and Sundsvall. We are now looking for summer substitutes for our home care services in central Stockholm.
As a summer substitute with us, you will get... ...an independent, social, varied, and developmental job where you will meet different individuals and get to know their life stories ... the opportunity to enjoy summer Stockholm while traveling between clients ... become part of a strong team where we support each other and have fun at work ... the possibility of extra work after the summer, provided the collaboration works well.
We are located in:
Östra Södermalm
Västra Södermalm
Kungsholmen/Norrmalm
Östermalm
About the role
In home care, no two days are alike! You will assist with tasks that our clients cannot perform themselves in daily life due to physical, psychological, or social circumstances, based on the support decision. This can include personal care, grocery shopping, cleaning, walks, or other social activities, or accompanying clients to doctor or hairdresser appointments. Our core value "See the whole person" permeates everything we do.
As a new employee, you will receive an introduction consisting of two parts; an informative part where you learn more about our policies, routines, and complete some short web-based training, and a practical part where you visit our clients together with a supervisor. You will attend several introductory sessions so that you feel secure before you start working independently. Your supervisor and others in the organization are, of course, available if you have questions or need help.
As a summer substitute, you will have a fixed schedule since you are working instead of an employee who is on leave. Working hours are varied, and you are expected to be able to work both weekdays and some weekends. You can request specific working hours if you prefer, for example, to work during the day or evening, as long as it suits the needs of the organization and, above all, the clients.
Who are you?
For this job, your personality is the most important thing! We are looking for someone who is interested in working with people, has a commitment to their work, and a drive to develop and improve. You are collaborative, flexible, and have a good attitude towards those you meet - whether colleagues or the people you are supporting.
You share Ersta's core value of seeing the whole person and our core words; professionalism, trust, and hope.
Your experience
To work as a summer employee with us, you need to:
be over 18 years old
be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
be able to ride a bicycle
We prefer that you have experience working in home care or other elderly care, but this is not a requirement. We also view positively if you have started a nursing education at the upper secondary level, a started nurse, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, social worker, or medical education, or are a qualified assistant nurse.
Other information about the recruitment
Selection is ongoing - submit your application as soon as possible!
Before employment, we will request an extract from the suspicion and criminal record registers.
Here you will find contact details for the persons responsible for the respective home care services, whom you are welcome to contact if you have questions. Note that we do not accept applications via email, but only via this advertisement.
Warmly welcome with your application!
