About the Technical Division and Nyköping Water

The Technical Division operates independently and consists of five operational areas: Nyköping Water, Municipal Properties, Waste Management, Street/Park/Harbor, and Meal Services. These are supported by a finance department, a project department, and an administrative staff. Approximately 400 employees work within the division, which generates an annual turnover of over 1 billion SEK and has an investment budget of 600 million SEK for 2024. Our clients are the Municipal Board, the Environment and Community Planning Committee, and the Culture and Leisure Committee.

Nyköping Water is responsible for all water and wastewater operations within Nyköping Municipality, including the operation, maintenance, and construction of water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and pipe networks. The operation includes 7 water treatment plants, 3 water towers, 12 wastewater treatment plants, 90 wastewater pumping stations, a pipe network of approximately 90 miles, and its own water laboratory.

The Investigation and Planning Unit works with long-term maintenance planning, development projects, and investigations to develop and manage the water and wastewater facilities in the best possible way. We are now looking for a Water and Wastewater Engineer with a special interest in stormwater and construction projects.

In this role, you will, among other things:

Lead and coordinate internal projects within the water and wastewater sector
Be responsible for technical issues and quality assurance in various project phases
Prepare documentation for tenders and call-offs
Review documentation and ensure that technical solutions meet the required standards
Lead or follow up on construction projects in close collaboration with contractors
Contribute to investigations and planning work, particularly related to stormwater
Collaborate with colleagues in the Investigation and Planning Unit and the rest of the organization

Qualifications

Requirements:

University education in water and wastewater technology or other relevant education
Experience in the water and wastewater sector
Experience in construction management, construction projects, or similar practical project work
Good computer skills and very good Swedish in speech and writing
Basic knowledge of contract law
Class B driver's license

Merits:

Experience with water and wastewater investigations, stormwater issues, or capacity assessments
Knowledge of VAbanken or similar systems
Experience with municipal procurement
Experience in project management
Knowledge in water and wastewater design
