Åhlund Byggnadsvård is now looking for experienced carpenters with an interest in traditional craftsmanship and older buildings. With us, you will work on the restoration and renovation of cottages, farms, churches, and other culturally historical buildings.

The work differs from traditional construction. Projects often require precision, problem-solving, and an understanding of older building techniques and materials.

Work is often done in small teams, and projects vary from careful restorations under heritage supervision to renovations and extensions in cultural environments.

We are looking for someone who appreciates meticulous craftsmanship and sustainable solutions rather than fast production. We work long-term and carefully. The results should last for generations, and we use materials and methods that suit the building.

ABOUT THE JOB

Our projects vary and can include everything from culturally correct restorations under heritage supervision to renovations and extensions in sensitive cultural environments.

Examples of tasks:

• restoration of older wooden structures
• carpentry work in culturally historical buildings
• work with traditional materials and methods
• window renovation, paneling, timber, and roofs
• new construction adapted to older environments

Work is usually done in smaller teams where each craftsman has significant responsibility for the outcome.

For us, quality is more important than speed. The results should last for generations and be something we can be proud of.

Åhlund Byggnadsvård AB currently consists of 8 craftsmen with various special competencies.

We work with restoration, renovation, and construction in culturally historical environments.

We are also engaged in:

• The network for building preservation in Södermanland and Stockholm
• the industry organization Byggnadsvårdsföretagen

In addition to contracting work, we also organize courses in areas such as sheet metal work and roofing.

We are looking for someone who

• has at least 5 years of experience as a carpenter
• has a interest in older buildings and building preservation
• is meticulous and quality-conscious
• enjoys working in smaller teams
• has a driver's license (B)

You do not need to have worked in building preservation before – the right attitude and interest in craftsmanship are the most important. If you have worked as a carpenter in modern construction but feel that you want to work more with craftsmanship, materials, and details, you are warmly welcome to apply.
