Project Manager for the Project Unit within the Technical Division

The Technical Division operates independently and consists of five areas: Street/Park/Harbor, Nyköping Water, Waste Management, Municipal Properties, and Meal Services. These are supported by a project department, an economics department, and an administrative staff. The division employs approximately 400 staff and has an annual turnover of over 1 billion SEK. Our clients are the Municipal Executive Board, the Environmental and Community Planning Committee, and the Culture and Leisure Committee.

The Project Unit within the Technical Division is tasked with managing Nyköping Municipality's larger investment projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Therefore, we are looking for two experienced project managers who can independently manage construction and civil engineering projects from start to finish.

As a project manager, you are responsible for ensuring the project's time, cost, and content. In this role, you will participate in feasibility studies and investigations, be responsible for design and construction before the facility is handed over to management. You will prepare decision materials, lead design, establish tender documents, and manage the contract while being financially responsible for the project. In this role, you will collaborate closely with colleagues from several municipal departments to create sustainable and functional solutions for both end customers and users.

The Project Unit's assignments encompass both construction and civil engineering projects, so we are looking for someone with broad and versatile experience from different types of projects. You thrive in a varied workday, are used to handling both technical and practical challenges, and have the ability to quickly adapt to new tasks. Projects we are currently working on include Nyköping's travel center, Hemgårdspassagen, Eastern entrance, reconstruction of Repslagargatan/Brunnsgatan, wastewater treatment plant in Runtuna, Släbroskolan, LSS housing, new recycling center, new waste facility, new transfer pipeline, expansion of streets and water and sewage for future developments, etc.

Exciting and challenging projects ahead include remaining investment projects related to Nyköping's travel center, further development around the Ostlänken such as Skavsta, as well as urban and infrastructure projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a relevant technical university degree or other education that we consider equivalent.
• Has several years of experience in independently leading investment projects related to the civil engineering and construction industry, with responsibility for time, cost, and function, meaning you have worked as a project manager or equivalent in a municipality/authority, design/construction consultant, or contractor.
• Preferably has good knowledge of contract law, AMA, and AB publications as well as competence as BAS-P/U.
• Holds a B driver's license.
• Has experience in civil engineering projects.
• Has experience in construction projects.
• Has a good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is important that you are persistent and work well with others. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. You express a positive attitude towards your work and act in accordance with decisions made.
