RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Building Inspector at Kiruna Municipality, you will handle the entire building permit process, from the incoming application to the final decision. This means that you will independently make a range of decisions within the framework of the permit review as well as during the course of a project. In addition to cases concerning the Planning and Building Act, the department also handles shoreline protection according to the Environmental Code.

An important part of the work involves delivering service and supporting both entrepreneurs and private individuals in matters concerning building permits.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with relevant education in civil engineering, law, architecture, building inspection/building permit handling, or similar. Education in, or experience of, working with the Planning and Building Act is a requirement.

It is an advantage if you have experience working as a building permit handler, building inspector, or similar regulatory authority assignments. The work as a building inspector involves a lot of contact with people. You therefore need to be service-oriented and have an outgoing approach. Your communication is clear, both verbally and in writing, and you find it easy to express yourself well. Commitment, independence, and structure are important qualities. You have analytical thinking and good decision-making skills. Great importance will be attached to your personal qualities.
