About the parish and the region

Huskvarna parish consists of the Huskvarna and Hakarp congregations.

The parish is home to 25,000 inhabitants, of whom over 10,000 are members.

We have approximately 75 employees working in congregation activities, cemetery and property management, preschool, and operational support.

We work based on the vision of creating "Meaningful Encounters".

The parish's work is characterized by close cooperation with various societal actors, which contributes to the church having a strong platform in the city.

Huskvarna is beautifully situated on the southern shore of Lake Vättern, with proximity to both scenic countryside and rapidly growing urban environments.

Huskvarna is part of Jönköping municipality.

The Vättern region has a geographically advantageous location, offering commuting distances to several other major cities.

About the position

Huskvarna congregation is seeking a church musician who wants to contribute to a vibrant and varied musical life with strong roots in tradition, quality, and joy.

With music as the entry point, many meaningful encounters are created.

The music activities have a good reputation, and the parish is now investing in further developing the area – including being open to hiring either an organist or a cantor, depending on competence and profile.

The position includes the established church choir, which currently has around 40 active members.

In addition to services and ceremonies, there is a tradition of regularly organizing musical events that are appreciated by many.

There are good opportunities to shape the position according to your musical preferences.

The position is part of the parish-wide Music team, where you, together with colleagues, will help develop the music activities.

Huskvarna Church offers three instruments in good condition: Two Christensen organs and a Bösendorfer grand piano.

The position is primarily based at Huskvarna Church and the parish center.

About you

As a person, you are confident and have a clear foundation in the faith and life of the Church of Sweden.

You are open and social, and you naturally connect with others.

You enjoy working both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues and wish to contribute to a pleasant working environment.

You have education as an organist or cantor.

Other important information

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

You have good experience in leading a choir.

You are a member of the Church of Sweden.

You hold a B-class driver's license and have access to your own car.

A clean criminal record certificate from the police is required for the position.

Start date is by agreement.
