Do you want to work in an organization where child health care is a central part of local public health work?

With us, you will have the opportunity to combine clinical work with a strategic and preventive perspective, where early detection of risk factors and strengthening of protective factors is the focus.

Your workplace

The Child Health Center in Eda is an integrated part of the family center – an important arena for coordinated and long-term public health work. Here, medical competence, psychosocial support, and educational activities meet in a common mission: to create good and equal conditions for all children.

At the Family Center in Eda, you will work together with a district nurse, two midwives, a healthcare administrator, an educator, and a social worker.

Through cross-professional collaboration, good conditions are created to:

  • Early identify risk factors that may affect children's physical, mental, and social development.
  • Notice signs of vulnerability in the family's life situation.
  • Strengthen protective factors through parental support and relationship-building work.
  • Actively work for equal health and integration, especially for families with non-Nordic backgrounds.
  • Coordinate efforts together with preschools, social services, doctors, and other actors.

Our values are based on the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the equal worth of all people. This means that we systematically work with health-promoting and preventive measures where the best interests of the child are always the starting point.

We offer:

  • A position with a clear public health profile and focus on early interventions.
  • Opportunity for training in public health science through the employer if you do not already have such competence.
  • Regular continuing education and professional meetings several times a year.
  • Structured introduction.
  • A health-promoting workplace with wellness activities and wellness compensation.

With us, you will have the opportunity to contribute both in daily meetings with families and in the development of the organization's long-term public health work.

Your tasks

As a child health nurse, you will work from a holistic perspective on the child's health and development. The work includes both health monitoring and parental support and preventive measures.

This means that you:

  • Follow the child's development from the newborn period to school start.
  • Identify and early notice deviations or risk factors.
  • Provide support regarding breastfeeding, nutrition, sleep, language development, vision, hearing, self-care, and child safety.
  • Work with vaccinations according to the national childhood vaccination program.
  • Offer support in parenting and strengthen the family's own resources, both individually and through parent groups.
  • Conduct home visits as an important part of the preventive work.

Through knowledge-based and relationship-oriented work, you contribute to reducing health inequality and laying the foundation for good living habits throughout life.

Your knowledge and competencies

We are looking for you who:

  • Are a licensed district nurse or pediatric nurse with prescribing rights.
  • Hold a B driver's license (home visits are included in the assignment).
  • Have education in public health science or have an interest and willingness to undertake such training with the support of the employer.

Experience in child health care is meritorious, but we particularly value your commitment to preventive work and early interventions.

You are positive, flexible, and engaged. You work independently but have strong collaborative skills and thrive in cross-professional teams. You communicate clearly and attentively, work systematically, and want to contribute to the development of the organization's public health mission.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
