We are now looking for a strategic, secure, and committed leader who wants to take overall responsibility for the Traffic Personnel & Service department - a key function to keep Gothenburg moving, every day, all year round.

About the role

As department head, you are responsible for ensuring that our passengers have a safe, secure, and pleasant journey - and that our employees have a working environment where they can thrive and develop. The department mainly consists of tram drivers, but also group leaders, planning specialists, and administrative staff. You will lead approximately 700 employees through a present, coaching, and communicative leadership style.

You have delegated traffic safety responsibility and drive the work towards our zero vision: that no one should be seriously injured or killed in traffic. You also actively work to minimize accidents, collisions, and derailments. Together with your managers and specialists, you proactively work on safety culture, communication, and learning - always with the goal of creating a robust and reliable traffic system.

As a member of the company's management team, you collaborate closely with the CEO and other department heads to develop the entire Gothenburg's Trams. You also represent the operation in business management together with Västtrafik, where you monitor and drive strategic issues within your area of responsibility.

Your mission

• Lead and develop the Traffic Personnel & Service department at both strategic and operational levels
• Ensure efficient schedules, high quality, and high traffic safety
• Drive systematic work environment efforts and sustainable leadership
• Actively contribute to the company's process development and the work towards the Swedish Quality Award
• Create engagement, participation, and results through trust-based leadership

Who are we looking for?

You are a secure and experienced leader who thrives in complex environments and has the ability to create clarity, direction, and joy at work. You are a role model in your leadership and have a natural ability to build trust and collaborations, both internally and externally.

You have:

• Post-secondary education in a relevant field
• Several years of managerial experience at a strategic level
• Experience leading unionized staff and of union collaboration
• Good understanding of the importance of schedule planning
• Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

Meritorious:

• Experience from both the public and private sectors
• Experience from public transport
• Experience leading managers
