JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Peder Skrivare School is currently seeking a facility manager for a comprehensive and responsible assignment.
Peder Skrivare School is very proud of our highly competent and service-oriented facility managers. We are now looking to complement the team in the facility management department after a retirement. Since the facility managers have a large and responsible task of managing 16 different properties, we are looking for a new colleague who can demonstrate strong references with a particularly high sense of responsibility, expressed by seeing what needs to be done before anyone else does and acting independently. We are looking for a person who is a strong team player and can read the game. Our new colleague needs to be able to act independently while also maintaining very good communication with colleagues so that we do not run after the same ball.
In the role of facility manager, you will work together with the other two facility managers to create the best school facilities for our students given the resources at our disposal. The key to success is to stay one step ahead. We are driven by having as few reports of issues as possible since we have addressed faults and deficiencies before staff and students see them.
Examples of daily tasks include managing locks and alarms, ensuring order and cleanliness in the areas outside classrooms, preparing for various activities in our properties, managing furnishings, receiving goods and delivering packages and mail, identifying and reporting workplace risks, and handling incoming reports of issues. The role also includes participating in safety rounds and conducting fire drills, including documentation, ensuring that updated evacuation routes and legally required quality certificates according to the Environmental Code are posted in designated places in the school's premises. It also involves daily collaboration with operational technicians from the municipality's Property Department.
This is a very mobile job, and there are quite a few heavy lifts involved.
QUALIFICATIONS
You need to either have at least a high school education with extensive work experience so that you can demonstrate competence in how to argue for your actions based on the legal provisions that govern your actions in your work role. Alternatively, you have post-secondary education, vocational training, or university education where you have a theoretical foundation that makes you confident in your arguments for your actions based on the legal provisions that govern your actions in your work role.
The work in this position places high demands on independence and the ability to take responsibility for effectively driving daily work forward. You need to have a distinctive trait of quickly identifying what you or we as an organization need to do, understanding when it is appropriate to check in with the manager and colleagues.
You should have very good computer skills and find it easy to learn new digital systems. You need to communicate well in Swedish, both spoken and written, as we place high demands on ourselves to be quick in responding to staff in writing or verbally regarding their various inquiries.
You need to easily understand the legal texts that govern our actions to explain to others the reasons for proposals for actions. For example, regarding fire safety, physical workplace measures, purchasing, and procurement.
You should have practical skills to perform assembly and simple repairs of furnishings and premises. You are meticulous and skilled at creating and maintaining structures for order and cleanliness.
It is advantageous to have knowledge of and experience working with physical workplace issues and fire safety.
You dare to challenge for development, take initiatives, and are flexible and creative. You are particularly service-oriented and have an outstanding ability to collaborate with others. You identify and propose improvements. To succeed in the position, you need to enjoy working in premises where many young people move daily. You need to have an open mind for the needs and movement patterns of young people, as we continuously work together with them in an ongoing learning process.
A driver's license (B) is required. B-96 is advantageous.
