The Swedish Armed Forces Technical School, FMTS, with its main location in Halmstad, is an air force unit where technology is at the center. The unit's activities rest on three pillars – development, education, and military unit production. For the Armed Forces' units to operate, they need functioning equipment, and for that, FMTS is an important cog. FMTS has a functional responsibility for the technical service within the Armed Forces, which includes following technological developments to anticipate future needs and also propose changes and improvements. There are exciting development opportunities for those who are technically interested, both at a basic and very advanced level. FMTS trains officers, specialist officers, and civilian employees in technical service across all branches of the armed forces. Here we also train conscript soldiers in areas such as logistics. Every day and every hour, our employees make contributions that affect other people's lives, both large and small, at home and around the world.
In the Armed Forces, there is a strong value base built on openness, results, and responsibility. Professional development and personal health are valued and encouraged. There are good conditions for internal career mobility, wellness, and a good balance between work and private life. The Armed Forces take advantage of the qualities that diversity and gender balance bring to the operations. We therefore welcome applicants with different backgrounds and experiences in our recruitments. Employment with us means placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required. A security clearance with a background check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Employment entails an obligation to be placed in a military position. The employment also includes an obligation to serve abroad, but the implications of this vary depending on the type of position. A CV and a personal letter must be attached to the application for employment. If you proceed in the employment process, certified copies of grades and certificates must always be presented.
