Do you want to make a real impact?

Here, you contribute to creating safety for people and communities. What you do matters.

Your Role

As a strategic buyer at Component Maintenance & Test Equipment (CMTE), you will be part of the purchasing organization where you will be commercially responsible for procuring products and services for the department's various programs and projects. In this role, you will ensure cost-effective and quality-assured strategies and purchases of products and services. We work closely with the marketing department, engineering, quality, and colleagues in other parts of Saab.

Your tasks include, among others:

  • issuing requests for proposals and managing bids
  • developing existing business with suppliers to find optimal and cost-effective maintenance capabilities
  • conducting cost analyses and continuously identifying cost savings
  • negotiating, further developing, and managing supplier agreements
  • being responsible for negotiations (including contract signing)
  • driving/participating in cross-functional teams

You will maintain supplier relationships and develop business relationships with our key suppliers while continuously evaluating existing and potentially new suppliers.

Component Maintenance & Test Equipment is part of the Business Unit BU Aviation Services, which delivers support solutions that span the entire lifecycle of the Gripen aircraft. The solutions can vary, which means ongoing dialogue with our suppliers and updating our agreements to meet new customer requirements. Our customers are global. You will be part of a purchasing department consisting of 10 colleagues working in strategic purchasing and supplier development, and your location will be Linköping.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is business-minded in your work and has several years of experience in strategic purchasing from both national and international suppliers. You have solid experience in negotiations, contract writing, and developing and nurturing supplier relationships. We also see that you have a university degree in purchasing, engineering, or economics/law - alternatively, you have equivalent documented experience in qualified purchasing. If you have a strong interest in technology and experience with aftermarket agreements and their flows, this is an advantage.

As a person, you are unpretentious, driven, and proactive, and you can lead yourself and others in the right direction to achieve set goals and results. This requires you to have a good ability to structure your work and be flexible in your thinking. Your close collaboration with colleagues and other instances also requires a good team spirit and well-developed collaborative skills.

As you will be working in an international environment, it is required that you master both English and Swedish in both spoken and written form, and that you can communicate and draft both contracts, business letters, and other correspondence in a professional manner. Mastering any other language is an advantage.

The position requires that you undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may entail requirements for certain citizenship.
