Open Pit Technician for Our New Open Pit Organization

After a few years of hiatus, we are restarting open pit production and entering an exciting phase of expansion.

Since autumn 2025, preparatory work has been ongoing in a new area east of the existing open pit, with the goal of reaching full production in 2026. We are now looking for you who want to contribute to our continued development!

For our new open pit organization, we are now seeking two individuals to take on the roles of open pit technicians. These two positions will work closely together with daily management of open pit production. The tasks include planning and optimizing operations, being responsible for follow-up, quality control, and practical tasks such as sampling and certain measurements with support from the measurement department. The position requires a high degree of independence where you are expected to lead and plan your own work based on production needs.

The positions of open pit technician have two separate focuses, one on geology and the other on planning, drilling, and blasting. Both positions are expected to support each other in daily work, so tasks should not be seen as limited to the division below.

Main Tasks for Open Pit Technician with a Focus on Geology

• Load control during loading in and around ore zones, with quality assessment
• Design of ore zones with grade control
• Delivery of digital ore zones and physical loading maps to excavator operators
• Sampling on the muck floor and open pit walls followed by input into the geological database
• Measuring samples, quartz, and other geological structures on the muck floor and in open pit walls with handheld GPS, as well as modeling structures from drone data
• Archiving measured data on the server
• If necessary, support resource geologists with ore modeling

Main Tasks for Open Pit Technician with a Focus on Planning

• Weekly production planning in the open pit in consultation with the production manager and contractors
• Daily reporting of drilled meters
• Daily reporting of transported tonnage
• Drilling planning of blasts and tight seams
• Delivery of digital drilling plans and physical maps to drilling operators
• In close collaboration with the mucking contractor, review and approve blast initiation
• Model ore zone movement, partly in consultation with the mucking contractor
• Archiving of drill hole logs on the server.

Qualifications and Attributes

We are looking for someone who is structured, meticulous, and has good communication skills. You need to be comfortable with outdoor work year-round, as well as being in a production environment with heavy machinery at work. Experience with CAD software is an advantage, primarily from Deswik, which is used in daily operations. Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is required.

Manual B driver's license required

• Full-time
• Individual salary setting
• Working hours are Monday-Thursday for Geology Technicians and Monday-Friday for Planning Technicians
• You report to the Open Pit Manager.
