We are Akademiska sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a regional hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we serve two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother is operated on, a colleague is hailed as a hero. With us, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, in a strong community with colleagues. See parts of our reality in our photo exhibition; akademiskafotoutstallning.se (http://akademiskafotoutstallning.se). Welcome with your application!

Our Operations

The clinics have a specific mission for investigation, treatment, care, and rehabilitation for adult patients with schizophrenia or schizophrenia-like conditions at a specialist psychiatric level. Here, patients receive a designated coordinator (case manager) and responsible physician. We base our work on the National Guidelines for Care and Support in Schizophrenia and Schizophrenia-like Conditions from the National Board of Health and Welfare, aiming for the patient to live as independently as possible with support and help.

Patients are offered both individual interventions and group treatments/interventions, and in addition, the clinic also provides services according to the psychiatric rehabilitation care program, social skills training, VOSS (care and support coordination), and health-promoting measures.

We value interdisciplinary work and operate in teams. Each team consists of a psychologist, specialist physician, psychiatric care specialist nurse, nurse, caregiver, occupational therapist, and social worker.

Collaboration with other healthcare providers is central, and we work with other regional and municipal actors. We also offer support to relatives.

Your Role as a Nurse at the Psychosis Clinic

  • you have a central role in collaboration around patients with complex care needs
  • you are the coordinator for several patients
  • you participate in, and have the opportunity to develop, group activities for the clinic's patients
  • you work with psychoeducation, medication follow-up, and counseling
  • you administer medication and conduct sampling.

With us, you will have the opportunity to join a stable and competent team with extensive collective experience working with the patient group and the clinic's mission. The work is based on the patient's needs and has a strong person-centered foundation. The psychosis clinics have a developmental approach and plan for competency-enhancing measures within the methods, instruments, and group treatments that are relevant.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a trained nurse. Experience in psychiatry is an advantage but not a requirement, and great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities. You find it important to enjoy and have fun at work while being engaged in an important mission and patient-centered work. You focus on the patient's best interests and have the ability to flexibly adapt your working methods based on the individual you meet. You believe it is important that the focus is on psychiatric care and treat patients and relatives with empathetic understanding and respect. The work is scheduled Monday to Friday during office hours without weekend shifts.

We Offer

Two permanent full-time positions, a probationary period of up to 6 months may apply. Start date is according to agreement.

With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/).
