The Gothenburg Burial Association is responsible for burial and cremation services within the geographical area of Gothenburg. We have just over 200 permanent employees and 120 seasonal employees and summer substitutes. We manage 36 cemeteries with a total of nearly 119,000 burial plots. Our crematorium performs cremations both within Gothenburg and on behalf of other burial authorities.

We are an organizational unit within the Church of Sweden and we carry out our mission in accordance with the Burial Act. The Burial Association is governed by elected representatives within the Church of Sweden's nine parishes in Gothenburg. They are appointed through indirect elections to burial delegates who in turn elect a burial board. The administration is organized into a geographically divided maintenance department, functionally divided units, and a secretariat. The operation has a turnover of approximately 325 million SEK.

Description

We are looking for you who want to work with us in the summer of 2026. The employment lasts for 9-10 weeks starting in early June.

To succeed in the job, you need to enjoy working together in a team while also being able to work independently. You are engaged in your work and responsible. You are a good representative of the Gothenburg Burial Association, with a professional demeanor and understanding of people in grief. You perform your work with precision and inspire your colleagues with joy at work. We expect you to want to contribute to a good working environment where well-being and safety are important parts.

Job Duties

You will be part of a work team that during the summer may consist of 10-20 people and is led by a team leader in consultation with the unit manager. You will work with cemetery maintenance such as planting flowers, watering, and other tasks at the burial sites. Various types of machines and vehicles are used as tools in the daily work.

Qualifications

• High school education or other education/experience deemed equivalent by the employer
• Driver's license (B)
• Good physical condition as the work is physically demanding with heavy lifting and occasionally repetitive tasks
• Good knowledge of Swedish

Previous work at a burial site or with park and garden maintenance is an advantage.

Conditions

We are looking for about 55 people for full-time work during the period from June to August in the summer of 2026. Weekend work may occur.

For those who meet the qualifications, it is important that you are available for a two-hour recruitment meeting at short notice on April 14 and 15.
