The City Environment Administration has a comprehensive responsibility for the city's public spaces and overall accessibility.

We work to create accessible, attractive, and vibrant urban environments and natural areas. The administration owns and manages the tram network in Gothenburg. Approximately 900 people work in the administration.

The City Environment Administration is part of the urban development administrations in Gothenburg City. Together, we work to create conditions for a functioning infrastructure, housing, and quality premises, an inviting public environment, and strive for the city to be sustainable from all perspectives.

Job Responsibilities

The Green Operations area works with the maintenance and care of the city's parks, playgrounds, outdoor gyms, street trees, green areas, etc. We also manage outdoor environments at schools, special housing, and outdoor environments at cultural properties. One of our teams performs maintenance and repair work on playgrounds.

The Playground Group works to execute orders for various repair and maintenance tasks that come from the administration itself as well as from other administrations and companies in the city.

We are now looking for two seasonal service technicians for the Playground Group. The main task for the group and their services is to perform, maintain, and repair, as well as other minor construction work such as paving, carpentry, and other fixes that may occur.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • a high school education with a focus on construction and civil engineering/gardening or equivalent longer professional experience.
  • Several years of work experience in maintenance or construction work.
  • A valid driver's license (B).

Other qualities that we see as advantageous are:

  • A valid driver's license (BE).
  • Good knowledge and experience with electrical hand tools and smaller machines.
  • Technically knowledgeable in general.
  • Ability to read and follow assembly manuals.
  • Good material knowledge, for example, of wood species and metals.
  • A focus on safety and risk awareness.
  • Computer skills.
  • Previous experience working with playgrounds.
