Do you want to work with some of Sweden's most central elite football arenas and help develop the future of pitch grass? We are now looking for a Head Groundsperson / Coordinator who wants to be involved in developing the operation of our pitches and contribute to maintaining an international standard on the surfaces of the arenas.

You will work in a team where precision, planning, and quality in every detail are crucial.

Gamla Ullevi and Nordic Wellness Arena are home grounds for elite football in Gothenburg and arenas where the demands for playing quality, safety, and event logistics are very high. Gamla Ullevi is the home arena for several elite teams in Gothenburg and is also regularly used for international women's football matches, which means a high match frequency and places particularly high demands on planning, maintenance, and the quality of the pitches throughout the season.

The pitches are maintained using modern methods and technology for professional arena management. The arenas are used intensively during the season for elite football and events, which places high demands on planning and maintenance over a long period with many matches.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will combine practical work in the operation of the arenas' pitches with coordination, planning, and development of the operations. You will work closely with the manager and colleagues within Arena Services and be an important part of ensuring that maintenance measures are carried out correctly and on time.

You will be a key person in the work of planning and executing the maintenance of the arenas' pitches together with other members of the grounds team. The role also involves a particular responsibility in the daily work of planning, coordinating, and following up maintenance measures to ensure that the pitches maintain a high and consistent quality over time.

The work takes place in an environment where elite football, events, and high technical standards place great demands on structure, competence, and commitment. The work is also carried out in close collaboration with the arenas' event operations, where the quality of the pitches is an important part of the overall match and event execution.

As an employee of Got Event, you will be part of a larger arena team, which means that work may also occur at other company arenas and facilities as needed.

Head Groundsperson

• Participate in the daily management of operations at Gamla Ullevi and Nordic Wellness Arena
• Ensure that maintenance measures are carried out at the right time and with the right intervals
• Introduce and instruct temporary staff in work methods and safety
• Actively work with environmental, sustainability, and quality initiatives
• Contribute to long-term and sustainable management of grass and artificial grass pitches
• Follow developments in turf management and arena operations

Coordination

• Support the unit's administrative work
• Plan and execute purchases of machinery, fertilizers, and grass products
• Compare products, suppliers, and prices for cost-effective purchases
• Plan and call in temporary staff
• Participate in development and improvement work within the operations

Qualifications

Requirements

• High school diploma
• SVFF training in Grass/hybrid and artificial grass levels 1–3 or equivalent experience
• Several years of experience working with sports surfaces or arena grass
• Experience working in elite sports or large events
• Good experience working with machinery in the industry
• Driver's license B
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English

Meritorious

• Agronomy education
• Certifications in turf management (e.g., Grounds Management Association, ISTMA, or similar)
• Further education in grass or arena maintenance
• Experience with Office365

Conditions

The work is scheduled and may include day, evening, and weekend work in connection with matches and events.

Workplace: Gamla Ullevi and Nordic Wellness Arena.
